Throughout the years of running the 2 iconic events, Borneo Jazz and Rainforest World Music Festival, STB has recognized talents of local university students to design t-shirts to be used for the events. Students of Universities and institutions of higher learning in Malaysia were invited to send in their designs and the response was overwhelming.
The Competition is part of the Sarawak Tourism Boards’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. By reaching out to students all over Malaysia, their talent, not only in designing but also in assisting in the organization of events is encouraged. STB will also continue to work with local as well as international universities as part of its Internship and volunteer programme.
Puan Angelina Bateman, Director of Corporate Communications, who represented the CEO Sarawak Tourism Board at the ceremony, commended the students and their lecturers for their continued support of the festivals. She said, ‘Your winning designs will be worn by festival goers and be brought back to where they came from and you should be proud that this will be the start of your future career prospects’.
The winners each received tickets to the festival as well as a certificate of participation. The participating universities were also presented with Certificates of Participation.
